YOYA: When Aesthetic and Sensibility Meet

YOYA: When Aesthetic and Sensibility Meet

For the longest time, fashion has been one of the core necessities of the human lifestyle. However, it cannot be denied that the current situation has taken a huge toll on fashion all over the world. For most people who go out for a social gathering, being chic is something we've always prepared for. These days, there is a much lesser need for fashionable apparel.

But fret not! For designer Yoya Gueco, there's no need to sacrifice aesthetic for functionality. With contemporary womenswear brand YOYA, there is a way where you can head out, do your errands and other day-to-day activities wearing clothes that are not only fashionable but also gives an added layer of protection.

Norwood ShirtJack, P6,995

YOYA partnered with the Swedish garment technology firm Polygiene to create the proprietary ViralOff® antimicrobial finish, which can be seen in the designer's latest collection, dubbed as Armoured Awakening.

Polygiene has worked with brands like North Face and Diesel, known for making clothes for roughing it out. This partnership is a first in contemporary womenswear, and a first for a Philippine fashion brand.

Weston Dress, P6,595

Dover Shrug, P3,995

The collection features an antimicrobial wear that is thoughtfully-designed to protect the sartorial for the ultimate peace of mind—just like an armor protects its warriors in battles.

Each piece in this collection reduces viruses by 99%* in two hours. This means that not only does the textile protects the wearer against pathogens, it also helps extend the life cycle of the garment, making each piece become more sustainable.

Minhas Polo, P4,995

Coupled with its powerful features, this collection offers protective pieces that do not feel hot, and are fitting everyday essentials without any fuss.

One notable piece is the Smithville Boiler Jumpsuit, with detachable sleeve and hood, draw cord details, elasticated waist band, front zip and pockets.

Meanwhile, the Sonora Dress is a piece designed to simply upgrade at-home experiences: watching movies on the couch, cooking a special dinner, relaxing over a glass of wine or a zoom session with friends. Wear it off-shoulder, with sleeves or without, it is extremely comfotable and absolutely elegant.

Pair the Dartmouth Sweathshirt and the Conway Shorts and you will have a super comfortable outfit, made with all-natural and raw copper-infused fabric, it will make you feel your best even while you're simply lounging at home.
